Being Adaptable

Being Adaptable in PE.

A strategy that I chose was being adaptable during class. This means to accept a change of plan and to manage myself throughout the change. I am going to apply this in my learning if my teacher changes her mind in what we are doing for class, for example, if we were told it is going to be a practical period but then is changed to a theory period, I will not be upset and slow to latch on to her decision in class. Getting on with my leftover work or continuing to play in practical is what I will do to be adaptable in PE.

Self Management

  • What is self-management?
To me, self-management is an instinct that us people have. It controls what we do and how we do it. It also means to me whether we can look after or manage ourselves when nobody is around. If I was to go off task while doing an important assessment, that wouldn't make me self-managed, due to me losing study time for a good cause. Some strategies you could do to be self managed is put away or hide what ever is distracting you and get on with your given task, this is called self control. Another strategy you could do to be more self-managed is not give up and let someone else finish your task for you, this is called resilience.

My thoughts on blogging

  • What are your previous experiences with blogging?

In intermediate, our class would write about events that we experienced, such as the Manaiakalani Film Festival. We also would blog our speeches or narrative writings, so that other people could read and comment on our blogs. I stopped blogging when I came to college.

  • How do you think blogging impacts on your learning?
I think blogging impacts on my learning because it can teach me how to express more in the way I learn, for example writing about how my day was, or what was going through my mind during a certain time, this makes me feel confident with my audience which lets me express.

  • How do you feel about blogging? Why?
What I feel about blogging is it can be boring when there isn't a story or post I want to write about, because I'm not interested in that topic. If there was a topic I was interested in, I would be more locked into my writing, allowing me to write properly.

Creating a Game

I've used Scratch to recreate a Basic Platformer Game. The game has 3 levels, I needed to use codes to make this game possible. Some examples of commands were if then, if else, when _ clicked, touching colour, broadcast ect.

I'm going to add more levels, that will include more obstacles, challenges and backgrounds.

I have learnt that each command has it's own purpose in the game. Also coding can be cool.

Integers

W.A.L.T: revisit problems

This game was all about integers. I found it easy at first then challenging when the game was coming to an end. i found it hard because I was getting confused with the numbers. Next I would like to revise more on integers.
