Childhood Games - R15

  • Explain the physical activity you participated in.
In this activity, all we did was play games that we used to play back in our childhood. The games we played were Leap Frog, Handball, Four Square, Hop-Scotch, Octopus and skipping. We could chose to play any game after a few games of Leap Frog and Octopus. The game I chose, or we all chose was Four Square.
  • What level of effort and engagement were you participating at during today’s physical activity? Why? (Grade yourself NA, A or M and refer to marking criteria)
I give myself a merit because I was prepared and organised for the game by bringing my gear, I was motivated to play the game because they brought back a lot of memories, I worked hard towards my goal which was to be Queen/King at Four Square lol, I showed enjoyment by laughing while we played Leap Frog and I did my best while playing a game.

Fun/Enjoyment affected my participation in a positive way because I was enjoying myself and the others who I played with. This affected it because there were happy vibes all around. By having happy vibes around, there will be no anger or frustration that could cause me to not play at my standards. An example is when we played four square. I could tell some people were confused and some people were happy to just play. This is because happy vibes. #lit
Challenge affected my participation in a positive way because I was at least good at something when it came to each game. This made me want to play even more and have a challenge with my team mates. An example is when we played four square, by having some skill level such as skimming the ball, I was able to challenge a friend. This made me get to Queen for a long time.
Previous Experiences affected my participation in a positive way because I was able to pick up some skills that I had learnt back in Primary and Intermediate. This made me able to do those moves in our game today. An example is skipping. By learning how to do the double unders in Primary lol I was able to beat my friend when we versed.

  • How could you increase your (or your peers) participation in this activity in the future?
Something I would do to increase my peers participation is by giving more options to play so that there won't be a big line of waiting. The game I would probably bring in is Gutter-board or Marbles. This will lessen the waiting line and have more of us playing.

Wheelchair Basketball - R14

  • Explain the physical activity you participated in.
The activity we participated in was Wheelchair Basketball. Wheelchair Basketball is a basketball but in a wheelchair. Wheelchair Basketball is a professional sport played in the Paralympics, so it was a good opportunity to try out a sport that is not common for everyday lives.
  • What level of effort and engagement were you participating at during today’s physical activity? Why? (Grade yourself NA, A or M and refer to marking criteria)
I give myself a merit because I was enjoying the game and the presence of the professional players, I enhanced the experience of my team mates by wanting to sub with them and give them a turn, I seeked improvement by practising how to do it in depth and not mucking around and I did my best due to it being a new sport.

Challenge affected my participation in a positive way because it was a totally new sport to learn. Due to Wheelchair Basketball being completely different than regular basketball, this made me use different parts of my body to do certain things, which was unusual. This was a challenge, especially being used to running around the court, instead of pushing myself around the court. An example was when it was my teams ball but the ball was thrown too hard, therefore made me push harder to get the ball before the opposition. If it was a normal game, it would've been easier for me to get the ball.
Previous Experiences affected my participation in a negative way because I was unable to pick up skills that I already learnt. The only skills that I had, was to dribble, pass, shoot and defend. Due to me not having skills on Wheelchair Basketball, this made me feel like a 10 year old learning how to play Basketball, which made me want to not play to my best. An example was when I learnt how to pick up the ball, it was too hard, so I picked up the ball the wrong way.
Sense of Achievement affected my participation in a positive way because it was good aiming for a goal I had put in my head. That goal was to score a goal at mid-range. Due to the goal constantly being in my head, it made me eager to get the ball and help my team out. An example was when the ball was with my team mate, he passed the ball to me, I shot the ball and got it in. I am Stephen Curry.
  • How could you increase your (or your peers) participation in this activity in the future?
Something I would do to improve my participation is maybe study more about wheelchair basketball. This I would know more about why and how it is played, therefore making my mentally but not physically prepared for the game.

Energy Systems

Energy Systems is when energy operates our bodies, makes our bodies work and move. We normally get energy from food. In Energy systems there are three specific systems. They are ATP-PC, Anaerobic and Aerobic. In ATP-PC, PC stands Phosphate Creatine. This is a body source for energy that are stored in our muscles. ATP-PC is when we do powerful and short moves in a sport, this lasts about 0 - 12 seconds. An example is a spike in volleyball, short but powerful. Anaerobic is when we have enough oxygen in our muscles, for a short period of time, mainly around 12 secs - 2 minutes. An example is the first 2 minutes of a volleyball game. Aerobic is when we need oxygen to last a long period of time in a game. An example for any sport is the whole game.

Fitness Suite Circuit - R13


  • Explain the physical activity you participated in.
The activity we participated in was a Fitness Suite Circuit. We had 8 stations with different fitness tasks. They were, Cycling, Rowers, Lunge Jumps, Bicep Curls, Russian twists, Burpees, Medicine Ball Squats and Agility Zig Zag. We did 2 rounds with 45 seconds each station. The last round was a 20 second station with 1 minutes breaks throughout each station.
  • What level of effort and engagement were you participating at during today’s physical activity? Why? (Grade yourself NA, A or M and refer to marking criteria)
I give myself a Merit because I was prepared and organised by bringing my gear, I worked hard towards my goal which was finish the circuit at a high level, I supported my team mate when she got tired, I showed happy vibes throughout the activity and I did my best by allowing myself to overcome the tired emotions.

Fitness affected my participation in a negative because I am unfit. This made me get tired super fast, which made me not want to go on with the fitness circuit. I would try my best but then end up taking a rest. An example was when I was doing the burpees. Instead of doing a push up and then getting back up, I stayed on the ground lol. To prevent this more, I will need to have a stronger and better mindset before we begin.
Equipment affected my participation because I brought the wrong clothes. Instead of bringing shorts, I brought track pants. This made my legs hot a lot quicker, which made me sweat more than I should've. By sweating even more, it distracted me from the circuit because I was too busy cooling myself off. An example was when we were cycling, I went to the window instead of cycling lol.
Sense of Achievement affected my participation because I was eager to set and finish a goal I put in my head. That was to finish each station at my best performance. By setting this goal, it made me work hard despite all the distractions, such as sweat and heat. An example was when it was the 20 second round. I went hard out and got the job done.
  • How could you increase your (or your peers) participation in this activity in the future?
To increase my participation I would not only be physically prepared, but also mentally prepared for this kind of Physical Activity. This would help me be ready in 2 ways.

Table Tennis - R12

  • Explain the physical activity you participated in.
The activity we participated in was Table Tennis, but besides playing, we had to set up the table instead. After setting up the table we played 2 v 2 against each other, until we had a winner.
  • What level of effort and engagement were you participating at during today’s physical activity? Why? (Grade yourself NA, A or M and refer to marking criteria)
I give myself a Merit because I was prepared and organised by bringing my gear to PE, I worked hard towards our goal by supporting my class mates when setting up the table, I showed enjoyment in the game while we were playing 2 v 2 and I did my best when there were multiple tasks to do when setting up.
  • What were three factors which influenced your participation? (Choose from the list below, and put a + or - beside the three factors to show whether it positively or negatively influenced your participation).

  • Explain HOW these factors affected your participation (with specific examples)
Sense of Achievement affected my participation in a positive way because I worked towards a goal I set in my head. That goal was to help set up the table within a suitable time, before we could play. By doing this, I was able to help out more and make myself useful for when there was a task that needed to be done. An example was when I helped a friend unscrew a tight bolt, so that we could put the proper one on.
Challenge affected my participation in a positive way because it made me more eager to finish the task. By having an urge to finish this task, it allowed me to participate and help out more. If someone got distracted and wanted to play with the other table tennis, I would take there job so the process wouldn't slow down. By doing this, it made me accept the fact that things go faster and better in a group, not by yourselves.
Equipment affected my participation in a negative way because it distracted me from doing good plays. The distraction came from the fact that there were old bats and new bats. Some bats had less grip than others, which caused the bat to slowly slip out of my hand when playing. An example was when I was going to serve the ping pong, but the ball missed the bat and went into the net, all because of it being unstable.


  • How could you increase your (or your peers) participation in this activity in the future?
Something I would do to increase my peers participation is get them into groups, and give them certain jobs in a situation or task like this. This will allow everyone to give a hand and get the job done faster.
